Description

Unilin Insulation | The new name for Xtratherm Insulation in the UK & Ireland.

The 47.5mm XT/TL-MF Thin-R Thermal Liner (Mechanically Fixed) combines a Unilin 35mm PIR insulation layer with 12.5mm tapered edge plasterboard and composite foil facing. This composite panel delivers both thermal insulation and drylining performance for internal walls, sloped roofs, and ceilings, though it is restricted to mechanically fixed installations.

The 47.5mm Insulated Plasterboard incorporates a composite foil facing on both surfaces with an integral vapour control layer built in, helping to minimise condensation risk. Designed specifically for mechanical fixing, the XT/TL Thermal Liner delivers substantial thermal performance and drylining in a single step, making it the ideal choice for new builds and refurbishment work.

About

The 47.5mm Thermal Liner XT/TL-MF combines thermal insulation and drylining in one operation, offering an efficient solution for new construction and refurbishment schemes. It enhances your property's energy performance whilst delivering benefits such as lower heating costs and improved comfort levels.

The 47.5mm Insulation Board is chemically stable and manufactured with a blowing agent featuring zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) and minimal Global Warming Potential (GWP).

Upgrading your home's thermal efficiency offers significant advantages, including reduced energy bills and enhanced living comfort. The Unilin XT/TL-MF Thermal Liner is a practical solution for achieving improved energy efficiency and performance.

The PIR board also delivers fire resistance through continuous adhesive ribbons, particularly around vulnerable areas such as window and door openings.

What are Insulated Plasterboards?

The 47.5mm XT/TL-MF insulated plasterboards (35mm insulation + 12.5mm plasterboard) are composite building materials that bond insulation to plasterboard, typically using PIR foam. This creates a single multi-purpose panel offering both thermal performance and a finished surface. They are widely used in construction to enhance thermal and sound insulation, whilst streamlining installation. Common applications include walls, ceilings, and floors, with options available in various sizes and thicknesses to match specific building needs.
