Description

Unilin Insulation | The new name for Xtratherm Insulation in the UK & Ireland.

The 42.5mm XT/TL-MF Thin-R Thermal Liner (Mechanically Fixed) combines a Unilin 30mm PIR insulation layer with a composite foil facing, bonded to 12.5mm tapered edge plasterboard. This composite panel delivers both insulation and drylining in a single product, ideal for internal walls, sloped roofs, and ceilings where mechanical fixing is required.

The 42.5mm Insulated Plasterboard features composite foil facing on both sides with an integral vapour control layer built in, helping to minimise condensation risk. Engineered for mechanical fixing applications, the XT/TL Thermal Liner delivers substantial thermal performance and drylining capability in a single installation step, making it an excellent choice for new builds and refurbishment work.

About

The 42.5mm Thermal Liner XT/TL-MF combines thermal insulation with drylining in a single operation, making it the go-to solution for new construction and renovation projects. It enhances your home's energy efficiency while reducing energy consumption and creating a more comfortable living environment.

This 42.5mm Insulation Board is chemically stable and safe to install. It's manufactured using a blowing agent with zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) and minimal Global Warming Potential (GWP).

Upgrading your home's thermal performance delivers substantial advantages, including lower heating bills and enhanced comfort levels. The Unilin XT/TL-MF Thermal Liner represents a practical solution for achieving superior energy efficiency in your property.

The PIR board also offers fire resistance benefits through continuous adhesive ribbons, particularly around vulnerable areas such as window and door openings.

What are Insulated Plasterboards?

The 42.5mm XT/TL-MF insulated plasterboards (30mm insulation + 12.5mm plasterboard) integrate plasterboard with an insulation layer, typically PIR-based. The insulation bonds directly to the plasterboard, creating a unified panel that provides thermal performance and a finished surface in one product. These panels are widely used in construction to enhance thermal and sound insulation, streamline installation, and reduce labour time. Common applications include walls, ceilings, and floors, with options available in various dimensions and thicknesses to meet specific building needs.
