80mm Kingspan Thermaroof TR26 integrates effectively with most mechanically fixed single–ply waterproofing membranes.
Installation Guidelines: New Build Roofs: When installing Kingspan Thermaroof® TR26 in new build roofs, a separate vapour control layer is typically recommended unless the product is used with a sealed metal deck. A condensation risk analysis should be completed for each specific project to verify correct installation practices.
Refurbishment Projects with Existing Insulated Flat Roofs or Insulated Steel Faced Composite Panels: For renovation work involving the addition of roof insulation to existing insulated flat roofs or insulated steel faced composite panel roofs, conducting a U-value calculation and condensation risk analysis is essential. These evaluations determine the correct insulation thickness for achieving target thermal performance whilst preventing interstitial condensation.
Installation over Existing Bituminous Waterproofing Roof Membrane: When installing Kingspan Thermaroof® TR26 over an existing bituminous waterproofing membrane during refurbishment, the membrane can function as a vapour control layer provided it remains in sound, watertight condition. Should the membrane show signs of deterioration, a separate vapour control layer must be installed.
Minimum Requirements for Separate Vapour Control Layer: Where a separate vapour control layer is required, use a 1000 gauge (250 micron) polythene sheet. All joints must be overlapped and sealed with double-sided self-adhesive tape for optimal performance.
