The 125mm Kingspan Thermaroof TR26 performs effectively with most mechanically fixed single–ply waterproofing membranes.
Installation Guidelines: New Build Roofs: When installing Kingspan Thermaroof® TR26 in new build roofs, it is recommended to use a separate vapour control layer unless it is being used in conjunction with a sealed metal deck. Additionally, a condensation risk analysis should be conducted for each project to ensure proper installation.
Refurbishment Projects with Existing Insulated Flat Roofs or Insulated Steel Faced Composite Panels: For refurbishment projects involving the addition of roof insulation to existing insulated flat roofs or roofs made of insulated steel faced composite panels, it is crucial to perform a U-value calculation and condensation risk analysis. These assessments are essential in determining the appropriate insulation thickness for achieving the required thermal performance while avoiding interstitial condensation.
Installation over Existing Bituminous Waterproofing Roof Membrane: In refurbishment projects where Kingspan Thermaroof® TR26 is being installed over an existing bituminous waterproofing membrane, the membrane can serve as a vapour control layer if it is in good water tight condition. However, if the membrane is not in good condition, a separate vapour control layer should be installed.
Minimum Requirements for Separate Vapour Control Layer: If a separate vapour control layer is needed, it should consist of a 1000 gauge (250 micron) polythene sheet. All joints should be lapped and sealed using double-sided self-adhesive tape to ensure proper performance.
