40mm Kingspan Thermaroof TR26 performs effectively with most mechanically fixed single–ply waterproofing membranes.
Installation Guidelines: New Build Roofs: For new build roof installations of Kingspan Thermaroof® TR26, employ a dedicated vapour control layer unless the product is applied over a sealed metal deck. A condensation risk assessment should be undertaken for each project to confirm appropriate installation practice.
Refurbishment Projects with Existing Insulated Flat Roofs or Insulated Steel Faced Composite Panels: When upgrading existing insulated flat roofs or steel-faced composite panel roofs with additional roof insulation, conduct a U-value calculation and condensation risk assessment. These evaluations determine the correct insulation thickness for achieving target thermal performance whilst preventing interstitial condensation.
Installation over Existing Bituminous Waterproofing Roof Membrane: Where Kingspan Thermaroof® TR26 is applied over an existing bituminous waterproofing membrane in refurbishment work, the membrane can function as a vapour control layer provided it maintains good watertight integrity. If the membrane shows deterioration, install a separate vapour control layer.
Minimum Requirements for Separate Vapour Control Layer: A separate vapour control layer, if required, should comprise a 1000 gauge (250 micron) polythene sheet. All joints must be lapped and sealed using double-sided self-adhesive tape for optimal performance.
