115mm Kingspan Thermaroof TR26 performs effectively with most mechanically fixed single–ply waterproofing membranes.
Installation Guidelines: New Build Roofs: When installing Kingspan Thermaroof® TR26 on new build roofs, a separate vapour control layer is typically required unless used with a sealed metal deck. A condensation risk analysis should be undertaken for each installation to confirm appropriate specification.
Refurbishment Projects with Existing Insulated Flat Roofs or Insulated Steel Faced Composite Panels: For refurbishment work involving the addition of roof insulation to existing insulated flat roofs or insulated steel faced composite panel roofs, U-value calculation and condensation risk analysis are essential. These evaluations determine the correct insulation thickness for achieving required thermal performance whilst preventing interstitial condensation.
Installation over Existing Bituminous Waterproofing Roof Membrane: When Kingspan Thermaroof® TR26 is installed over existing bituminous waterproofing membranes in refurbishment projects, the membrane may function as a vapour control layer if it remains in good watertight condition. Where the membrane is compromised, a separate vapour control layer must be installed.
Minimum Requirements for Separate Vapour Control Layer: Where a separate vapour control layer is required, use a 1000 gauge (250 micron) polythene sheet. All joints must be lapped and sealed with double-sided self-adhesive tape to ensure effective performance.
