The 105mm Kingspan Thermaroof TR26 performs effectively with most mechanically fixed single–ply waterproofing membranes.
Installation Guidelines: New Build Roofs: When installing Kingspan Thermaroof® TR26 on new build roofs, a separate vapour control layer is typically recommended unless the product is used with a sealed metal deck. A condensation risk analysis should be completed for each installation to confirm correct specification.
Refurbishment Projects with Existing Insulated Flat Roofs or Insulated Steel Faced Composite Panels: For refurbishment work involving additional roof insulation over existing insulated flat roofs or insulated steel faced composite panels, perform a U-value calculation and condensation risk analysis. These evaluations determine the correct insulation thickness for meeting thermal requirements whilst preventing interstitial condensation.
Installation over Existing Bituminous Waterproofing Roof Membrane: When installing Kingspan Thermaroof® TR26 over existing bituminous waterproofing membranes during refurbishment, the membrane can function as a vapour control layer provided it remains in sound, watertight condition. If the membrane shows signs of deterioration, install a separate vapour control layer.
Minimum Requirements for Separate Vapour Control Layer: Where a separate vapour control layer is required, use a 1000 gauge (250 micron) polythene sheet. All joints must be lapped and sealed with double-sided self-adhesive tape for optimal performance.
