160mm Kingspan Thermaroof TR26 is compatible with most mechanically fixed single–ply waterproofing membranes.
Installation Guidelines: New Build Roofs: When installing Kingspan Thermaroof® TR26 in new build roofs, a separate vapour control layer is typically recommended unless the product is used with a sealed metal deck. A condensation risk analysis should be completed for each specific project to confirm proper installation.
Refurbishment Projects with Existing Insulated Flat Roofs or Insulated Steel Faced Composite Panels: For refurbishment schemes involving additional roof insulation over existing insulated flat roofs or insulated steel faced composite panels, U-value calculations and condensation risk assessments are essential. These evaluations determine the correct insulation thickness for achieving required thermal performance whilst preventing interstitial condensation.
Installation over Existing Bituminous Waterproofing Roof Membrane: When installing Kingspan Thermaroof® TR26 over an existing bituminous waterproofing membrane in refurbishment projects, the membrane can function as a vapour control layer provided it remains in good watertight condition. If the membrane shows signs of deterioration, a separate vapour control layer must be installed.
Minimum Requirements for Separate Vapour Control Layer: Where a separate vapour control layer is required, use a 1000 gauge (250 micron) polythene sheet. All joints must be lapped and sealed with double-sided self-adhesive tape to ensure optimal performance.
