The 130mm Kingspan Thermaroof TR26 performs effectively with most mechanically fixed single–ply waterproofing membranes.
Installation Guidelines: New Build Roofs: For new build applications, Kingspan Thermaroof® TR26 installation typically requires a separate vapour control layer unless deployed over a sealed metal deck. A condensation risk assessment should be completed for each installation to confirm suitability.
Refurbishment Projects with Existing Insulated Flat Roofs or Insulated Steel Faced Composite Panels: When adding roof insulation to existing insulated flat roofs or insulated steel faced composite panels, undertake a U-value calculation and condensation risk analysis. These evaluations determine the correct insulation thickness for meeting thermal requirements whilst preventing interstitial condensation.
Installation over Existing Bituminous Waterproofing Roof Membrane: When installing Kingspan Thermaroof® TR26 over existing bituminous waterproofing membranes in refurbishment work, the membrane can function as a vapour control layer provided it remains in sound, watertight condition. Should the membrane be compromised, install a separate vapour control layer.
Minimum Requirements for Separate Vapour Control Layer: Where a separate vapour control layer is required, specify a 1000 gauge (250 micron) polythene sheet. Lap all joints and seal using double-sided self-adhesive tape for optimal performance.
