This 30mm ecotherm eco versal product works across new construction and thermal upgrade projects. Common uses include:
- The 30mm ecotherm floor insulation must be positioned above the Damp Proof Membrane (DPM) and kept away from ground moisture sources.
- Where concrete slabs are used, lay a protective membrane of at least 500 gauge thickness over Eco-Versal before applying the screed.
- Our 30mm Ecotherm PIR insulation works with most Underfloor Heating Systems (UFH). Install a minimum 500 gauge polythene sheet over the 30mm Insulation Boards before the UFH system. Refer to the UFH system manufacturer's guidance during installation.
- Secure a breathable membrane according to the manufacturer's specifications.
- To reduce condensation risk, install a Vapour Control Layer (VCL) behind the plasterboard, unless using insulated plasterboard products.
- Fix a Breathable Membrane as per manufacturer guidance. For pitched roofs, lay the membrane over the rafters and secure using tile or slate laths.
- Assess the need for a Vapour Control Layer (VCL) and/or undertile ventilation in line with BS 5250:2021 (Code of practice for control of condensation in buildings).
- For over-rafter applications, fix 30mm ecotherm Roof Insulation using vertical counter battens, which enable traditional slate and tile lath fixing methods.
- Lay the breathable membrane directly on the 30mm Eco-Versal board before installing counter battens. Alternatively, install counter battens on top of the 30mm PIR Board and drape the breathable membrane over them.
- Where lower U-values are needed, consider installing insulation between the rafters combined with Insulated Plasterboard such as Ecotherm Eco-Liner on the rafter underside.
