60mm Unilin FR/MG Flat Roof Insulation Board represents a high-performance Polyisocyanurate product featuring mineral-coated glass facings. This board delivers exceptional thermal performance across multiple roofing applications, particularly for use beneath single-ply waterproofing membranes and partially bonded built-up felt roof systems.

Installation of the 60mm FR/MG roof insulation boards requires either approved mechanical fixings or adequate adhesive bonding. Assessment of vapour control layer requirements should follow current National Building Regulations guidance.

Roof Design

Design considerations should align with BS 4841: Part 3 and Single Ply Roofing Association guidance.

Falls

Flat roof falls must be consistent and sufficiently pitched to prevent water pooling and ensure proper drainage.

Fire Performance

The fire rating of our 60mm Unilin FR-MG, when tested to EN 13501-5 and BS 476 Part 3 'External Fire Exposure Roof Test', will depend on the waterproofing system selected.

Vapour Control Layer

A continuous, approved vapour control layer should be positioned below the insulation layer (unless installed over a sealed metal deck). For mechanically fixed boards, employ a minimum 1000 gauge polythene vapour control layer, lapped and sealed using double-sided tape, positioned beneath the Roof insulation. At vertical upstands and service penetrations, the VCL must be extended upwards and sealed to fully encapsulate the insulation prior to roof finish application.
