150mm Unilin FR/MG Flat Roof Insulation Board is a premium Polyisocyanurate product featuring mineral-coated glass facers, engineered for use beneath single-ply waterproofing systems and partially bonded built-up felt installations.

These 150mm roof insulation boards are installed using approved mechanical fixings or adequate adhesive bonding. Assessment of vapour control layer requirements must be undertaken in accordance with relevant Building Regulations.

Roof Design

Design considerations should align with the guidance provided in BS 4841: Part 3 and the Single Ply Roofing Association recommendations.

Falls

Flat roof falls must be consistent and sufficiently steep to prevent water pooling and ensure effective drainage.

Fire Performance

The fire rating of our 150mm Unilin FR-MG, when assessed to EN 13501-5 and BS 476 Part 3 'External Fire Exposure Roof Test', depends on the waterproofing system selected.

Vapour Control Layer

An approved, continuous vapour control layer should be positioned beneath the insulation (except over sealed metal deck systems). For mechanically fixed boards, employ a minimum 1000 gauge polythene vapour control layer, lapped and sealed using double-sided tape, positioned below the Roof insulation. At vertical upstands and service penetrations, the VCL must be extended upwards and sealed to fully contain the insulation layer before roof finishing.
