120mm Unilin Thin-R FR/MG Flat Roof Insulation Board

120mm Unilin FR/MG Flat Roof Insulation Board is a premium Polyisocyanurate product featuring mineral-coated glass facers, engineered for use beneath single-ply waterproofing systems and partially bonded built-up felt roof installations.

These 120mm roof insulation boards must be installed using approved mechanical fixings or suitable adhesive bonding. Assessment of vapour control layer requirements should follow National Building Regulations guidance.

Roof Design

Refer to the guidance in BS 4841: Part 3 and the Single Ply Roofing Association recommendations when designing your flat roof system.

Falls

Flat roofs must incorporate adequate falls to prevent water pooling and ensure proper drainage of rainfall.

Fire Performance

The fire classification of 120mm Unilin FR-MG, when assessed under EN 13501-5 and BS 476 Part 3 'External Fire Exposure Roof Test', will depend on the waterproofing system selected for your installation.

Vapour Control Layer

An approved, continuous vapour control layer must be positioned beneath the insulation (except where installed over sealed metal deck systems). For mechanically fixed boards, employ a minimum 1000 gauge polythene vapour control layer, lapped and sealed using double-sided tape beneath the Roof insulation. At vertical upstands and service penetrations, the VCL should be extended upwards and sealed to fully encase the insulation layer before completing the roof finish.
