40mm Unilin Thin-R FR/MG Flat Roof Insulation

40mm Unilin FR/MG Flat Roof Insulation Board is a high-performance Polyisocyanurate product featuring mineral-coated glass facers, engineered for use beneath single-ply waterproofing systems and partially bonded built-up felt installations.

These 40mm roof insulation boards are installed using approved mechanical fixings or suitable adhesive bonding. Assessment of vapour control layer requirements must be undertaken in line with relevant Building Regulations.

Roof Design

Reference should be made to the guidance in BS 4841: Part 3 and the Single Ply Roofing Association recommendations.

Falls

Flat roofs must incorporate consistent falls with sufficient gradient to prevent water pooling.

Fire Performance

The fire classification of our 40mm Unilin FR-MG, when assessed to EN 13501-5 and BS 476 Part 3 'External Fire Exposure Roof Test', will depend on the waterproofing system selected.

Vapour Control Layer

An approved, continuous vapour control layer is required beneath the insulation (except over sealed metal deck systems). For mechanically fixed boards, use a minimum 1000 gauge polythene vapour control layer, lapped and sealed with double-sided tape beneath the Roof insulation. The VCL must be extended up vertical upstands and around penetrations, sealed to fully encase the insulation layer before roof completion.
