Integral vapour control layer

1. Standard ventilated roof designs require a 50mm clear ventilation space between the insulation and roofing felt. Where a vapor-permeable membrane is fitted, this gap may reduce or disappear entirely. Always check the roof membrane manufacturer's specifications for guidance.
2. Conventional ceiling work typically places fiberglass insulation between and across the joists. This conceals the upper joists, creating potential safety issues when accessing roof voids. To address thermal bridging through joists, apply SR/PR to the underside before fitting plasterboard. Alternatively, use Safe-R SR/TB Drylining boards for the same purpose. Both methods allow safe roof access whilst keeping joists visible for storage use.

Handling, Cutting, and Storage:

1. Unilin pitched roof insulation requires storage on a clean, level, raised surface with protective covering.
2. Polythene wrapping alone does not provide adequate weather protection.
3. Prevent damage during storage and throughout construction work.
