Integral vapour control layer

1. For traditional ventilated roofs, a 50mm clear ventilation gap between the insulation and roofing felt is standard practice. Where a vapour-permeable membrane is used, this gap can be reduced or removed entirely. Always consult the roof membrane manufacturer's guidance for specific applications.
2. Standard ceiling installations typically place fiberglass insulation between and above joists, which can obscure the upper joist sections and create safety concerns for roof access. To address thermal bridging through joists, apply SR/PR to the underside before fitting plasterboard. Alternatively, Safe-R SR/TB Drylining boards offer another solution. Both methods maintain safe roof access, keep joists visible, and enable storage use of the roof space.

Handling, Cutting, and Storage:

1. Store Unilin pitched roof insulation on a clean, flat, raised surface and protect with a cover.
2. Polythene wrapping alone does not provide adequate weather protection for the insulation.
