The 300mm Cordek Heaveguard board protects against lateral heave forces, typically installed on the inner face of piled ground beams or within deep trench fill foundation systems.

Suitability guidance

Selecting the correct 300mm Heaveguard thickness depends on anticipated lateral movement and void recommendations from NHBC standards, as detailed in the specification table. Note that Heaveguard and similar compressible polystyrenes only compress significantly when loads exceed 20 kN/m2, with 50% compression occurring at 40 kN/m2. For this reason, 300mm Heaveguard is unsuitable for applications beneath ground floor slabs, piled beams, or pile caps.
