Cordek 100mm Heaveguard is a compressible expanded polystyrene (EPS) product engineered to protect foundations from ground heave damage. This low-density material acts as a vital shield against lateral heave, particularly on the inner surfaces of piled ground beams and deep trench fill foundations.

This 100mm expanded polystyrene (EPS) material from Cordek is specifically designed to defend foundations against ground heave damage and movement.
The 100mm Cordek Heaveguard protects against lateral heave when installed on the inner face of piled ground beams or within deep trench fill foundation systems.
Selecting the correct 100mm Heaveguard thickness requires consideration of anticipated lateral movement and void recommendations from NHBC standards, as shown in the table below. Note that Heaveguard and similar compressible polystyrenes only compress substantially when loads exceed 20 kN/m2, with 50% compression occurring at 40 kN/m2. For this reason, 100mm Heaveguard is unsuitable for use beneath ground floor slabs, piled beams, or pile caps.
