The 200mm Cordek Heaveguard board protects against lateral heave forces, typically positioned on the inner face of piled ground beams or deep trench fill foundation systems.

Suitability

The appropriate 200mm Heaveguard thickness selection depends on predicted lateral movement and void specifications recommended by NHBC, as shown in the reference table below. Note that Heaveguard and comparable compressible polystyrene materials only compress substantially when loads exceed 20 kN/m2. Achieving 50% compression requires a load of 40 kN/m2. For this reason, 200mm Heaveguard is unsuitable for applications under ground floor slabs, piled beams, or pile caps.
