Vapour Control Layer

A vapour control layer should be lapped and sealed beneath the insulation board. When installing fully adhered systems, board joints must be taped in accordance with the adhesive system specifications.

Bonded Board Installation

Insulation boards are embedded within a bitumen layer on 3G type felt to BS EN 13707: 2013 (Flexible sheets for waterproofing. Reinforced bitumen sheets for roof waterproofing) adhered to the substrate. Unilin recommends all systems incorporate mechanical fixings or be bonded using alternative suitable adhesive products.
