The 25mm Kingspan Thermaroof TR26 performs effectively with most mechanically fixed single–ply waterproofing membranes.
Installation Guidelines: New Build Roofs: For new build roof installations of Kingspan Thermaroof® TR26, employ a dedicated vapour control layer unless the product is being used with a sealed metal deck. A condensation risk analysis must be completed for each specific project to confirm correct installation.
Refurbishment Projects with Existing Insulated Flat Roofs or Insulated Steel Faced Composite Panels: When adding roof insulation to existing insulated flat roofs or insulated steel faced composite panel roofs during refurbishment, conduct a U-value calculation and condensation risk analysis. These evaluations determine the correct insulation thickness for meeting thermal requirements whilst preventing interstitial condensation.
Installation over Existing Bituminous Waterproofing Roof Membrane: When installing Kingspan Thermaroof® TR26 over an existing bituminous waterproofing membrane in refurbishment work, the membrane can function as a vapour control layer if it remains in good watertight condition. Where the membrane is compromised, install a separate vapour control layer.
Minimum Requirements for Separate Vapour Control Layer: A dedicated vapour control layer should comprise a 1000 gauge (250 micron) polythene sheet. All joints require lapping and sealing with double-sided self-adhesive tape for optimal performance.
