Bespoke 150mm rainscreen façade systems support numerous potential system designs, combining various materials with different methods for attaching and securing external cladding to the underlying wall structure. When fixings and supports penetrate the insulation layer to reach the structure, thermal bridges form, which can reduce the overall thermal performance of the façade assembly. Whilst thermal isolators can help minimise thermal bridging effects, the specific type and positioning of fixings and supports may increase heat transfer through the façade, affecting the U-value.
