Specification Clause

The selected wall insulation shall be 80mm XtroLiner XO/FB, manufactured to EN 13165 standards by Unilin Insulation. This wall insulation product features a durable modified Polyisocyanurate (PIR) core with textured, robust, low emissivity foil facings on both sides. The XtroLiner XO/FB variant has an Agrément declared Lambda value of 0.021 W/mK.

Resistance 'R' Values

To determine the resistance value for any thickness of Unilin 80mm PIR insulation, divide the material thickness (in metres) by the agrément declared lambda value. For example: Lambda 0.021 W/mK with 80mm thickness equals 0.080 ÷ 0.021, giving an R-Value of 3.80. Per EN 13165, R-Values should be rounded down to the nearest 0.05 (m2K/W).

Guidelines for Handling, Cutting, and Storage

1. Store 80mm Unilin XO/FB insulation on a clean, level surface above ground and protect from weather.
2. The polythene wrapping alone does not provide adequate protection against outdoor exposure.
3. Take care to protect the insulation during storage and throughout the building process.
4. Always use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working with insulation materials.
