Specification Clause

The selected wall insulation comprises 50mm XtroLiner XO/FB, manufactured to EN 13165 standards by Unilin Insulation. This wall insulation product features a resilient modified Polyisocyanurate (PIR) core with textured, low emissivity foil facings on both sides. The XtroLiner 50mm XO/FB variant carries an Agrément declared Lambda value of 0.021 W/mK.

Resistance 'R' Values

To determine the resistance value for any thickness of Unilin 50mm PIR insulation, divide the material thickness in metres by the agrément declared lambda value. For example: Lambda 0.021 W/mK with 80mm thickness equals 0.080 ÷ 0.021, giving an R-Value of 3.80. Per EN 13165, R-Values must be rounded down to the nearest 0.05 (m2K/W).

Guidelines for Handling, Cutting, and Storage

1. Position 50mm Unilin XO/FB insulation on a clean, level surface above ground and protect with adequate covering.
2. The polythene wrapping alone cannot provide sufficient protection from weather exposure.
3. Exercise care during storage and throughout the construction process to prevent damage.
4. Always use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working with insulation materials.
