  3. A selection of depths and grades is offered, adaptable to varying soil heave conditions and insulation requirements for pile caps or beams.
  4. Select the appropriate panel depth (85mm, 155mm, or 220mm) according to soil heave potential. Installation is straightforward, and cutting on-site produces minimal dust.
  5. Grade 7/10 provides a safe load of 7 kN/m2 and fail load of 10 kN/m2. Safe load represents the maximum force the board can sustain without damage, whereas fail load causes permanent deformation.
  6. The 220mm HX B exhibits low shrinkage characteristics and a plasticity index ranging from 40-60.

Design Notes

Each 220mm Cellcore HX B grade is engineered to accommodate a specific concrete thickness, along with a live load allowance of 1.5 kN/m2, while experiencing minimal creep compression during a 16-hour curing phase. This is referred to as the "SAFE LOAD."

Upon reaching the predetermined load, the polystyrene legs of the Cordek panels will yield and collapse due to the upward ground movement, a condition known as the "FAIL LOAD."

In the structural design process, it is imperative that the slab, beam, or pile cap be engineered to withstand the disparity between its self-weight and the fail load.
