The Gypframe 70 AS 50 AcouStud is a sigma-profiled metal stud engineered to suppress sound transmission in wall assemblies whilst preserving usable floor space.
British Gypsum Gypframe 70 AS 50 AcouStuds accommodate 43mm, 70mm, 92mm, and 146mm wall configurations, delivering substantial improvements to acoustic insulation characteristics. The specialist profile dampens sound as it propagates through the wall structure, effectively reducing noise levels. Compared to conventional 'C' studs, the extended flange provides superior load-bearing capacity and dimensional stability.
GypWall CLASSIC – A lightweight assembly delivering 30-120 minutes fire resistance with outstanding acoustic properties. It safeguards the metal framework against warping, decay, and distortion. Correct fixing placement and advance planning are vital for achieving design performance.
GypWall ROBUST – Supplied in 70mm, 92mm, and 146mm stud depths, compliant with BS 5234 standards. It combines excellent durability, acoustic performance, and 60-minute fire resistance in a single-layer configuration. Suited to commercial environments and typically requires control joints to manage structural movement.
These studs furnish vertical support framing within British Gypsum partition and lining systems as specified by the system design. They're available in a range of lengths.
