1. The 85mm Cordek Cellcore HX B is a lightweight EPS board for protecting concrete beams and pile caps from ground heave. Grade 9/13 is suitable for concrete depths up to 300mm and meets required performance criteria.

3. Multiple depths and grades are offered, adjustable to soil heave conditions and insulation requirements for pile caps or beams.
4. Select the panel depth (85mm, 155mm, or 220mm) according to soil heave potential. Installation is straightforward with minimal dust generation during on-site cutting.

Design Notes

Each 85mm Cellcore HX B grade is engineered for a specific concrete thickness, incorporating a 1.5 kN/m2 live load allowance and minimal creep compression over a 16-hour curing period. This is termed the "SAFE LOAD."

When the predetermined load is reached, the polystyrene legs of the Cordek panels compress and collapse due to upward ground movement, known as the "FAIL LOAD."

During structural design, the slab, beam, or pile cap must be calculated to resist the difference between its self-weight and the fail load.
