The 80mm Rockwool External Wall Dual Density Slab delivers superior thermal performance for external wall applications. These 80mm external wall insulation boards utilise dual density construction with two distinct wool layers of varying densities: a softer lower layer that compensates for building surface imperfections, and a denser upper layer ideal for render application. Installation requires metal pin mechanical fixings alongside quality adhesive, with a minimum of 7 fixings per square metre recommended for secure attachment.

Application

Install 80mm Rockwool Mineral Wool insulation slabs according to manufacturer guidelines, which detail design specifications and installation procedures. For optimal adhesion, secure boards to the substrate using mortar or adhesive combined with mechanical fixings.

Given the substantial weight of Mineral Wool, the EWI-225 Premium Basecoat is recommended instead of standard adhesives suited to lighter materials. Apply a thin, diluted adhesive layer to the prepared surface first. After drying, apply the basecoat and position the Fibreglass Mesh into the wet coat.
