  4. Select the appropriate panel depth (85mm, 155mm, or 220mm) according to soil heave potential. Installation is straightforward, and cutting on-site generates minimal dust.
  5. Grade 7/10 indicates a safe load capacity of 7 kN/m2 and a fail load of 10 kN/m2. Safe load represents the maximum force the board withstands without failure, whilst fail load causes irreversible deformation.

Design Notes

Each 155mm Cellcore HX B grade is engineered to support a specific concrete thickness, incorporating a live load allowance of 1.5 kN/m2, whilst experiencing minimal creep compression over a 16-hour curing period. This threshold is defined as the "SAFE LOAD."

When the predetermined load is reached, the polystyrene legs within the Cordek panels will yield and collapse due to upward ground movement, referred to as the "FAIL LOAD."

During structural design, the slab, beam, or pile cap must be engineered to manage the difference between its self-weight and the fail load.
