40mm Stylite Expanded Polystyrene insulation boards provide an excellent solution for external wall insulation. These boards attach readily to existing wall substrates, immediately enhancing both visual appeal and thermal performance. Insulating from the external side rather than internally minimises the risk of interstitial condensation developing within wall cavities.

Stylite 40mm External Wall Insulation board suits diverse wall constructions, from solid brickwork to timber frame walls. Typically, external wall insulation receives a rendered finish for protection. Application methods vary based on the chosen system. Furthermore, 40mm Stylite EWI boards perform well in rail or drained cavity EWI configurations.

Preparation

Deploy netting on scaffolding to prevent polystyrene debris from becoming airborne. We strongly suggest using a hot knife or hot wire cutters to minimise offcuts, though standard knives work if required. Ideally, cut the 40mm EPS insulation boards under cover to stop offcuts scattering.

EPS Insulation Application

Always follow the manufacturer's installation guidelines when fitting EPS insulation boards, addressing all design and application requirements. Initially, secure EPS boards to the substrate (masonry or timber) using mortar/adhesive or mechanical fixings.

Once boards are attached to an external wall, apply a protective outer layer such as a mortar basecoat or netting to shield from excessive heat, moisture, and UV damage.
