These boards attach directly to existing wall substrates, immediately enhancing both aesthetic appeal and thermal performance. Applying insulation to the external wall surface rather than internally significantly reduces interstitial condensation formation within wall cavities.

Preparation

Deploy netting on scaffolding to prevent polystyrene debris dispersal in windy conditions. We strongly advise using hot knife or hot wire cutters to minimise polystyrene offcuts, though standard knives work if necessary. Ideally, cut the 30mm EPS insulation boards under cover to prevent offcuts scattering.

EPS Insulation Application

Always follow the manufacturer's installation guidelines when fitting EPS insulation boards, ensuring all design and application requirements are met. Begin by securing EPS boards to the substrate (masonry or timber) using mortar/adhesive or mechanical fixings.

After fixing boards to an external wall, apply a protective outer layer such as mortar basecoat or netting to shield from excessive heat, moisture, and UV damage.
