Preparation

Deploy netting on scaffolding to prevent polystyrene debris from dispersing in windy conditions. We strongly advise using hot knives or hot wire cutters to minimise polystyrene waste, though standard knives work if necessary. Ideally, perform cutting of 210mm EPS insulation boards within a sheltered area to prevent offcuts from becoming airborne.

EPS Insulation Application

Always follow the manufacturer's installation instructions when fitting EPS insulation boards, addressing all design and application requirements. Begin by securing EPS boards to the substrate (masonry or timber) using mortar/adhesive or mechanical fixings.

After fixing boards to an external wall, apply a protective outer layer such as a mortar basecoat or netting to shield against excessive heat, moisture, and UV radiation.
