60mm Grey Polystyrene (Graphite) is a premium expanded polystyrene (EPS) board incorporating graphite particles that deliver a distinctive grey appearance. The reflective graphite within the insulation beads enhances thermal performance by approximately 20% compared to standard 60mm white EPS insulation of equivalent thickness. This 60mm rigid EPS closed-cell construction contains trapped air within each bead, and because air resists heat conduction effectively, it substantially reduces heat transfer rates.
Graphite particles distributed throughout the 60mm Grey Polystyrene (Graphite) board structure create reflective properties and the characteristic dark grey finish. When radiant heat passes through the 60mm graphite insulation, multiple reflections occur, dramatically slowing heat transmission and boosting energy efficiency.
Within 60mm Grey Polystyrene (Graphite) boards, warm air follows a tortuous path toward cooler regions, decelerating heat movement and maintaining warmer indoor conditions. This delivers superior thermal conductivity of 0.031 W/mK, outperforming conventional 60mm expanded polystyrene boards.

Installation
The 60mm EPS boards are initially fixed to the substrate (masonry or timber) using mortar/adhesive, mechanical fixings, or a combination of both.
The 60mm expanded polystyrene boards should then be covered with an outer layer, such as siding or a mortar layer.
The outer surface of the board needs to be rasped or sanded to create an abrasive surface before covering it with fiber mesh, to which the base coat or mortar layer is applied.
