Description

Discover the 100mm Unilin XO/PR Pitched Roof Insulation solution designed specifically for sloped roofs. This advanced system delivers excellent thermal performance whilst preserving your home's usable space. Roofs are critical to any building's thermal envelope, and poor insulation can lead to substantial heat loss. Installing 100mm XO/PR Pitched Roof Board significantly reduces heat escape and provides superior thermal bridging performance.

For complex roof designs with multiple slopes, the Warm Roof construction technique offers outstanding results. This method places insulation above or between the roof timbers, keeping your building's structure aligned with internal temperatures and preventing condensation issues.

What constitutes Thermal Bridging?

Thermal Bridging occurs in specific areas where insulation performance drops significantly compared to the surrounding structure. These instances fall into three categories: 'Repeating,' 'Random,' or 'Non-Repeating.'

How is Thermal Bridging Quantified?

Thermal bridges are measured using linear thermal transmittance, known as PSI (Ψ) and measured in W/mK. Building energy ratings are calculated using SAP software, which evaluates thermal bridging at junctions using a 'Y-Value.'

Good detailing delivers benefits

  1. Less chance of condensation and mould forming at poorly detailed junctions.
  2. More energy efficient building with lower running costs.
  3. A more cost effective method of achieving a low energy building.

Handling, Cutting, and Storage Guidelines

  1. Keep 100mm Unilin pitched roof insulation on a level, clean surface above ground and protect from weather exposure.
  2. Polythene wrapping alone won't protect against outdoor conditions.
  3. Maintain insulation protection throughout storage and construction phases.
  4. Always wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when handling insulation materials.
