XPS (Extruded Polystyrene) insulation is a type of insulation that is made from polystyrene that is melted and then extruded through a die to form a continuous board. XPS Board is similar to EPS insulation in terms of its insulation properties, with a high R-value per inch, and is also moisture resistant. However, XPS insulation is denser than EPS insulation and has a higher compressive strength, which makes it better suited for use in high load-bearing applications such as under concrete slabs or as foundation insulation. It's also used in walls, roofs, and floors. Our insulation is a closed cell insulation which means that the cells of the insulation material are not interconnected, this makes the insulation less permeable to water vapor and it can hold a higher compressive strength. However, it also makes it less permeable to air and it can trap moisture in the walls.
