65mm Rockwool TCB Cavity Barrier delivers superior fire protection for timber frame and masonry structures. Engineered to surpass building regulation standards for fire resistance in concealed wall cavities, this product has been tested to withstand up to 60 minutes of fire exposure while maintaining integrity and insulation performance.
Manufactured from non-combustible stone wool and wrapped in protective polythene sleeves, this cavity wall insulation solution provides thermal performance alongside weather protection during construction. The colour-coded sleeves—red for TCB and white for PWCB—enable quick identification on site.
The Rockwool cavity barrier combines fire safety, acoustic flanking prevention, and thermal bypass control in a single product. It also seals perimeter edges effectively, minimising air infiltration and heat loss.
The 65mm Rockwool TCB Cavity Barrier performs effectively in both vertical and horizontal configurations. When installed vertically, secure the flanges to the inner leaf at 150mm intervals using staples or clout nails before the outer cavity wall compresses the product. For horizontal installations, fix only the top flange of the polythene sleeve.
Euroclass A1 fire rating: ROCKWOOL Cavity Barriers meet the highest fire safety standards and have been tested and assessed for up to 60 minutes of fire resistance (both integrity and insulation) in accordance with BS 476: Part 20.
This cavity barrier product exceeds the minimum Building Regulation requirements for fire resistance in concealed wall cavities, delivering robust protection for both TCB and PWCB applications.
The TCB Cavity Barrier maintains consistent performance regardless of building movement, structural shrinkage, or temperature fluctuations, ensuring long-term reliability.
Designed for robust on-site handling, these barriers provide lifetime structural protection once installed, resisting degradation throughout the building's lifespan.
ROCKWOOL Cavity Barriers deliver flexible installation options for both vertical and horizontal placements. Vertical installations allow both flanges to be secured to the inner leaf at 150mm intervals, whilst horizontal applications require only the top flange to be fixed.
ROCKWOOL Cavity Barriers effectively block flanking noise transmission through concealed cavities in external wall insulation and separating walls, enhancing acoustic performance throughout the building.
