The 50mm BEWI Claymaster Insulation Board is a compressible, lightweight expanded polystyrene void-fill solution engineered to protect foundations from clay heave, soil movement, and shrinkage complications. This moisture-resistant EPS material acts as a reliable protective barrier beneath ground structures.

When installed around pile caps, the 50mm Claymaster pink EPS insulation layer reduces pressure on ground beams as surrounding clay expands and contracts with moisture changes.

This lightweight, straightforward-to-install board measures 2400mm x 1200mm and provides durable protection against clay heave and foundation damage caused by moisture-related soil movements.

Shrinkable clays contain high concentrations of mineral particles smaller than 0.002mm, creating a cohesive structure when saturated but becoming cracked and crumbly when dry. The resulting expansion and contraction—termed 'clay heave'—can seriously damage foundations during wet and dry cycles.

50mm BEWI Claymaster EPS insulation comes in 50mm, 75mm, and 100mm thicknesses (150mm, 200mm and 300mm available to order), covering the most typical site requirements.
